PDX part 2

Just another story of bicycles creating fun and adventure. So we decided to ride to breakfast Sunday morning at Bridges Cafe. There was some trouble with one of the locks before we went to eat, but we figured we'd tackle that issue after filling the bellies with some incredible catfish hash and a mimosa. After eating, the outcome was (along with being totally stuffed) that two bicycles were locked together, one through the wheel so it couldn't be towed. The lock pickers went to work, while everyone else decided to play and experiment with the double -- hump. We decided that if we could get one of the locked bicycles on the handle bars of the other locked bicycle, we could ride them both back home and break the lock there. It was a bit tricky to find the right balance, but in the end it worked.

  1. How is this not stealing? More details necessary... Like what happened to the original rider of the carried bicycle???

  2. She was getting a double from someone else. We didn't steal the bicycle, it was her bicycle, she just locked it to mine and we couldn't get them apart.

  3. What's with riding 2 abreast with a huge lineup of traffic? For a guy that harps on rules of the road, bike ettiquette, etc., I'm surprised that this photo is being offered with no caveat.

But I just say that to be a square. I love the bike on bike action.

  4. You can't see the stoplight directly ahead in the photo, but we were preparing to turn left, so entering auto traffic was our only choice.
